Neville is a large black 0-6-0 tender engine. He was built at SR Brighton and Ashford Works in 1942 and brought to Sodor in 2005.
Bio
The engines didn't like Neville at first for, although Neville was kind and friendly, he had the misfortune of looking like a diesel. Thomas saw him with 'Arry and Bert, and soon a rumour spread that he was planning to bump the steam engines. Luckily the rumour was rectified and Thomas befriended Neville.Now Neville has very good friends on the Island of Sodorand he will always be apart of the Fat Controller's railway.
Appearances
Neville made his first appearance in the ninth season episode "Thomas and the New Engine". He later made a cameo in the eleventh season and a speaking role in the twelfth season episode, "Best Friends".
Persona
Neville is kind and friendly. The steam engines did not like him at first, but after that they did. Thomas and his friends now show their full respect and kindness for him and he appreciates them.Neville is also hard-working and has showed lots of enthusiasm to others, he also likes to be a really useful engine no matter what.
Basis
Neville is based on the SR Bulleid Q1 locomotive, which were often referred to as "ugly ducklings".
Livery
Neville is painted in the British Railway's plain unlined black livery. He carries the real-life number 33010.
Number 33010
Neville carries the number 33010, which was a number belonging to one of his class members. However, his number gives a clear indication of where Neville stands in the fleet of railway engines on the Fat Controller's Railway. He is the thirty-third railway engine including those adapted from the Railway Series. Also, he is the tenth standard gauge "Non-Awdry" Engine to be introduced since Season 5.
