"James Works It Out" is a twelfth season episode narrated by Michael Angelis in the UK and by Michael Brandon in the US. It aired in September 16, 2008.

Plot

One winter day James is taking some trucks to Great Waterton when he runs into Harold and Edward, who warn him the shorter route has been blocked due to a snowfall. James ignores their advice, but gets stuck in the snow. James decides to listen to Hector's advice and gets to Great Waterton safely.

  • When James is cleaned he goes from happy to surprised, but his smile is still visible behind his surprised expression.

  • After James gets stuck in the drift, more snow falls on his trucks.
  • It would be dangerous for James to use Hector as a snowplough, as this would damage his buffers.
  • When James arrives at Great Waterton, Thomas and Stanley have no snow on them.
  • James should have had a brakevan at the front of his train.
  • Wasn't going down the hill fast James' original idea before they got stuck in the snow?
