"Bad Day at Castle Loch" is a seventh season episode. It first aired on November the 10th, 2003.

Plot

Donald and Douglas are to take some equipment to Castle Loch for the re-opening of the castle, but Percy warns them a monster lurks in the Loch. The twins are divided over whether Percy is telling the truth, but on the way there they stop for a fallen tree, and before they can move back a landslide knocks the brakevan over, stranding them. The Fat Controller promises to send help, but the hours pass and no one comes. Then, during the night, a mysterious figure approaches through the darkness. The twins are petrified it's the monster, but it's only Harvey with a crane to help.

  • This episode's name is a reference to the movie "Bad Day at Black Rock".

Goofs

  • When the narrator says "But sometimes, they longed for Scotland, their old home" and when Donald and Douglas puff past the ruined castle (without their faces), they're pulling the same train that they later take to Castle Loch.
  • Donald and Douglas could not have gone along the causeway even if it was safe for them. They were completely stranded.
  • The narrator says the causeway was old and rickety, but Harvey travelled across without any problems.
  • Michael Angelis gives Harvey a different voice from what he had in the previous season.
